Peppercorn Family Services provides practical and skills based workshops which vary according to community need and requests.
Some are held in the holidays for school aged children, others during the term for mums, dads, grandparents, and carers.

First Aid for Families
A two hour information and demonstration session in a relaxed and practical, hands on environment. Participants learn the skills and gain understanding on how to manage child related emergencies including child and baby resuscitation, choking management, near drowning, allergic reaction management, burns, blood loss, head injuries and fractures, poisoning and stings, and asthma management.
Sing & Grow
Sing & Grow is a community driven music therapy project, which focuses on the parent-child connection in early childhood, creating opportunity for shared music participation and reflective parental discussion.
Our budgeting workshop aims to develop skills and strategies for you to manage your money, set goals, save for what you want, manage debt, plan for the future and know where to get help and information. The program is run across three weeks and includes Money Management, Shopping on a Budget and Cooking on a Budget.
Build-A-Mind holiday workshops are a great way for chilidren to try robotics, coding and design for the first time or to build on skills they have already developed. The program reinforces the four c’s of 21st century learning: creativity, communication, collaboration and critical thinking conducted in small groups and with the individual attention of a team member. The program aims to inspire and engage children in the subjects of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics.
Our community programs are located in several areas throughout the Hawkesbury, providing a range of capacity building programs, workshops and activities that support our local communities.
Our Community Hub works with individuals and community groups to provide a locally based, single point of access to information, resources and services that are available to all. The activities we provide are a result of community interest and consultation and following a just a few of the workshops that we provide.
Career Tasters is a six week course, designed to give a “taste” of different types of work and work skills, to help individuals decide what course or job area to pursue down the track.
Bushcare & Native Plants
The course includes planting native garden beds, identifying bush foods and native plants, plants & their relationship within the environment plus identifying weeds & their impact on bush.
This half day course is run from the Wisemans Ferry Community Centre. All participants will be asked to supply identification for their licence to be issued.
Family fun and fete days
A part of the "Stronger Communities, Stronger Families" program, family fun days are held both at the South Windsor Family Centre and at the Wisemans Ferry Community Centre. A wide range of resources and activities are available for all members of the family. Activities include Tumbletown Gym, jumping castles, face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo plus arts and crafts for children of all ages.
